Here We Were Happy
trade paperback / 6 x 9 / 120pp / OCT 20, 2026
Cooper Young’s first collection, Here We Were Happy, explores poetry of place–the practice of letting the environment kindle and direct his work. The poems follow journeys across Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Hawaii, and California, gathering what travel leaves behind: stories overheard, meals shared with strangers, and memories of landscapes. The collection captures the beauty and wisdom of the natural world and the human experiences intertwined with it.
